Why I Became a Reiki Master

Most journeys start with a vision, purpose, or just basic curiosity. When I first decided to dip into the world of Reiki, I knew nothing about it. I had dabbled in many different spiritual paths at that point, and I am always thirsty to learn something new. What sparked my initial interest was meeting an old friend after some time had passed and immediately noticing how different her energy felt. It felt calmer, balanced, clearer, and like her ego had taken a back seat. Our egos are always there, by the way, but learning how to strike a deal with them so they know when to chill out in the back of our minds and when to come forth and get shit done is the key. I was immediately intrigued by what could’ve caused this transformation in her. She started telling me about her Reiki journey. And that’s when it began.

Staying Curious

Most things in my life, I’ve approached with curiosity. Walking through the world like this has kept me out of trouble (for the most part) and helped me connect with many people who have differing viewpoints. When I contacted my Reiki teacher, I had no idea what to expect. I just knew that I wanted to understand more about Reiki and, I guess, add it to my collection of spiritual experiences. After all, I’ve always loved collecting things. After my consultation, I knew I wouldn’t feel my collection was complete without learning and understanding this particular way of energy healing. So, I signed up for Reiki One, and so, my journey began.

Of course, the yearning for learning didn’t stop there. My thirsty soul desperately felt called to complete all three levels as quickly as possible. Just a warning: it's probably not a good idea to rush through Reiki 3 (I’ll explain in another article another day), but I gobbled up all that Reiki knowledge and started putting it into practice immediately. Little did I know, I wouldn’t learn to appreciate the benefits of Reiki until after I became a healer.

Healing Myself

If you’ve already studied Reiki, you’ll know that the first thing you learn is how to heal yourself. There’s no way I could’ve known how many layers of pain and trauma I would end up peeling away to reach the depths that I have been able to reach in my practice. By first doing the shadow work, I was able to build a stronger will and inner voice that built the foundation of my healing practice today. Not only that, it made me stronger out in the 3D world (regular everyday world) that we live in. This healing journey has helped elevate not only my vibrations and deepen my connection to spirit but also my overall confidence in how I carry myself each day.

Healing My Loved Ones

After you heal yourself, you start healing others. Usually, the first ones you start doing Reiki on are your family members and friends. People are really intrigued by Reiki, and thankfully, this gives you lots of opportunities to practice your healing technique when you’re first starting out. What’s so beautiful about this is after your energy fields start vibrating at a higher frequency and you spread that through healing others, you’ll start noticing changes in them. They will develop self-love, handle conflict better, become more present, and your relationships with them will deepen. There’s so much more, but in the beginning, that’s what you’ll start noticing.

Deepening My Relationship With My Husband

When I started practicing Reiki, I had no idea the impact it would have on my relationship with my husband. Through healing myself, I started eliminating all of the toxic ways I had been communicating with him. I was learning how to be vulnerable and win with love. Then, I started doing Reiki healing on my husband, which sparked his healing journey. Once his vibrations started rising, we could communicate and understand each other with a deep, loving, and healing approach. We’ve also developed an intense spiritual connection that allows us to experience linked dreams and intuitive hits. Reiki can help strengthen the spiritual, physical, and emotional relationship you have with your partner in the most beautiful ways.

Increasing My Confidence at Work

Once I started diving into Reiki and having my spiritual awakening, it almost felt like a shade had been lifted, and I was seeing the world for what it truly was. My confidence increased, and I was no longer afraid of putting myself first. I started viewing my colleagues with more compassion and understanding (even the ones I didn’t vibe with). I was understanding others on a deeper level and took way less personally. However, through this journey, I also started seeing my true worth and knew I could bring more value to the world in other ways.

Opening My Third Eye

Throughout my Reiki journey, my senses were becoming more intense at a rapid rate as my third eye started to open. My dreams were incredibly lucid, and I was getting intuitive hits daily (probably a little too much). I’ve always been pretty intuitive, but this was a new level. After learning to manage this connection and become comfortable with it, I learned to love it. Our minds and spirits are an incredibly powerful thing. Sadly, many do not know it, believe it, or know how to access their power anymore. It’s there, just waiting to erupt.

Helping Others Connect With Their Inner Wisdom

The most exciting part about being a Reiki healer and master is being able to help others connect with their inner wisdom, strengthen their intuitive voices, and find their true purpose. Watching people grow in these incredible ways is the best gift I could ever receive from the universe. It’s so empowering and exciting to see people step into their power and discover their self-worth and their awesome magick. Why not learn how to access it? It’s there and ready to be awakened; why would you let it stay dormant during this lifetime?

Final Thoughts

If your spirit resonated with any of this and you’re not already a Reiki healer, you might consider becoming one. When you choose this path, you can choose how deep you go with it. If you only want to heal your family and friends, that’s great. You’re still improving the world by elevating those individuals in your life. Maybe you want to start a business and give Reiki healing to clients every day; that’s amazing! And if you really love Reiki and feel inspired to spread the knowledge to others, then by all means, jump on that Reiki Master bandwagon. The more we spread this knowledge, empower others to tap into their inner magick, improve people’s emotional intelligence, and help elevate the collective vibrations, the better off the world will be.
